1921
A new Z Division was formed (PO 24 February 1921), to reflect the growing importance of Croydon which had previously been policed by W Division. The new Z Division included Kenley, Thornton Heath, South Norwood, Gipsy Hill (from P Division), and Knights Hill. Also in 1921, Wandsworth, Clapham and Battersea Park Road (Nine Elms) were transferred from W to L Division. Carter Street was transferred from L to M Division which then comprised Southwark, Carter Street, Deptford, Grange Road, Rodney Road, Rotherhithe and Tower Bridge.
